It's evening as I type this post.  I've got the windows open, and I can hear the cicadas, the crickets and even the frogs from the pond across the street in a cacophony of woodland night music.  The air has that heady, post rain, loamy smell to it. It's basically a glorious summer evening here in New York.  And yet, these stunning photos taken by the enormously talented French photographer, George Dambier, make me feel sentimental for summers that took place before my time.  Clearly, I'm not the only one drawn to these images, as so much of what is in vogue this summer is almost entirely inspired by summers past.  Do you draw inspiration from bygone eras, or are you always onward, forward!
